Introduction
Medical Prescription Attachment for WooCommerce lets you run your WooCommerce store like a real pharmacy. It stops customers from buying prescription‑only medicines until they upload a valid doctor's prescription, and it gives your team a simple review desk to approve or reject each upload before the order moves forward.
You decide which products need a prescription — a single product, or every product inside chosen categories. Customers see a clear "prescription required" label on those items and are prompted to attach their document at the point of purchase. Nothing ships until an admin has verified the paperwork.

What this plugin does
- Gates medicines — mark products (or whole categories) as prescription required.
- Collects prescriptions — a drag‑and‑drop upload box on the product, cart, checkout, or order page.
- Blocks checkout — customers can't place a gated order until a file is attached (unless Attach Later is enabled).
- Verifies uploads — admins review each prescription and set it to Approved or Rejected.
- Keeps everyone informed — automatic emails to the customer and the store admin, plus order notes on every status change.
- Reads the prescription for you — optional on‑device OCR extracts doctor, date, and medicines, with an AI fallback for handwriting.

Key concepts at a glance
- Gated product — a product that requires a prescription, set per‑product or by category.
- Prescription — one or more files (JPG, PNG, PDF, DOC/DOCX) a customer attaches to an order.
- Status — every gated order carries a prescription status: Attachment Pending → Pending → Approved / Rejected. See Prescription Statuses.
- Review desk — the admin Orders screen where staff open, read, and decide on each prescription.
