Does the connector work on the online store checkout?
No. Linkly payments are only offered on the WooCommerce POS. Online customers keep using your normal WooCommerce payment methods.
What do I need from Linkly?
A Linkly Cloud account with a username and password (test credentials for the sandbox, live credentials for production), and a Linkly PIN pad that shows a pair code. For testing, Linkly's Virtual PIN pad can be used with the sandbox.
Does every cashier need to pair?
Yes. The pair code is saved per POS user. Each cashier pairs once, and can change the pair code at any time from the Linkly icon.
Can two tills in the same outlet use different terminals?
Yes. Because each POS user has their own pair code, two cashiers can pair with two different terminals.
Which cards can customers use?
Whatever your Linkly terminal and merchant acquirer accept — for example Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
Can a cashier take part of the total on Linkly and the rest in cash?
The amount sent to the terminal is the amount entered for POS Linkly Reader on the pay screen. The Linkly step only runs when that amount is more than zero.
What happens to the order status?
Linkly orders are created as Pending payment and become Completed when the terminal approves the card (or Partial Payment for a partial-payment sale). If the card is declined or the result never arrives, the order stays pending.
Can the customer be charged twice?
The connector protects against it: while a transaction is in progress, Pay again and Check again resume that same transaction instead of starting a new one. Still, always check the terminal before re-trying when the POS says Payment not confirmed yet.
Does changing the gateway Title change the POS button?
No. The POS shows the Payment Name from Point of Sale → Settings → Payment. See POS Payment Method.
Does it work with the WooCommerce POS Partial Payment add-on?
Yes. Installments can be paid through the Linkly terminal. See Pay an installment.
Does the plugin send any emails?
No. Customers receive WooCommerce's usual order emails when the order status changes.
Is there a Stripe terminal alternative?
