Features
Every item below is part of the module as shipped in version 2.0.0. Items that depend on another plugin say so.
Kitchen display
- A shared board at your own kitchen address with four views: All Orders, On Hold, Preparing and Completed.
- All Orders shows the three working columns side by side, each with a live count.
- Every ticket card shows the kitchen ticket number, the time it arrived, and whether it is Take Away with its WooCommerce order number or Dine In with the table name and booking number.
- Expanding a card lists each item with its picture, name, SKU and quantity.
- Read Note shows the preparation note the cashier attached.
- One tap moves a ticket forward: Start, Mark as Completed, Send.
- One tap moves a ticket back: Back to Hold and Back to Prepare.
- Cards can be dragged from one column into another instead of using the buttons.
- A search box filters the board by kitchen ticket number, WooCommerce order number, booking number or table name.
- A footer strip counts New Orders, Pending orders and Completed Orders, next to a clock.
- Light and dark themes, remembered per device.
- A full screen toggle for wall mounted displays.
- The board can be installed as an app with your own name, colours and icons, opening full screen in landscape.
- A browser notification announces every new ticket.
Customer screen
- A public display, one per outlet, that needs no sign in.
- Two live lists, Preparing and Completed, each showing the ticket number and the table or take away reference.
- Your own wording under each list, for example Your order is under preparing and Hope you enjoy your order.
- A side image beside the lists for a menu board, in portrait or landscape layout.
- A promotional slideshow that takes over when there is nothing to show, or permanently if you switch the order board off.
- The slideshow can run images or a looping video, with an extra card slider when video is on.
- A bottom strip of smaller images runs at all times.
- Slide effect, direction, delay and speed are configurable for each of the three sliders.
- Light and dark themes and a full screen toggle.
Inside the Point of Sale
- An Add To Prepare button in the cart for seated tables, which opens a note box before sending.
- An Add To Prepare checkbox on the payment page for take away orders.
- A Kitchen Orders tab listing everything still on hold, with Add More, Delete and Receipt on each ticket.
- A Thermal Receipt button as well, when the WooCommerce POS Thermal Printer add on is active.
- A Sent Orders tab with Create Bill, which loads a finished ticket back into the cart and jumps to payment, and Back to Hold for a ticket that has to be reworked.
- A Bill Created badge on a ticket that has been billed, and a confirmation before a second bill is raised for the same ticket.
- An All Orders tab showing On Hold, Preparing and Completed side by side inside the POS.
- A browser notification at the counter when the kitchen sends a plate out.
Administration
- A Kitchen & Customer Screen settings tab holding the live connection, the three slider configurations and the kitchen web app.
- A Kitchen User role, created on activation, that can reach the kitchen display and nothing else.
- A User Role selector and column on the Point of Sale user screens, so an account can be created as a POS User or a Kitchen User.
- Renameable kitchen and customer screen addresses.
- A Customer Screen column on the outlet list with a button that opens that outlet's display.
- A Customer Screen configuration tab on every outlet.
- A choice of live channel: a Firebase Realtime Database you own, or Socket over the Point of Sale Node server.
- Licence status for the module on the Point of Sale Module License screen, with in place activation and support renewal. CodeCanyon buyers can also save an Envato token there to install updates from the WordPress Plugins screen.
- Both screens inherit the logo and theme colours already set for the Point of Sale, so they are branded on the Appearance and General tabs rather than configured twice.
- High Performance Order Storage support and multisite support.
What the module does not do
Stated plainly so there are no surprises.
- It does not change your online storefront. There is no product setting, no cart change and no checkout change.
- It does not register any WooCommerce email. The alerts it sends are browser notifications on the kitchen and POS screens only.
- It does not work without WooCommerce Point of Sale. See Installation.
- The dine in Add To Prepare button in the cart appears only when Restaurant Point of Sale is also active. Without it, take away sending through the payment page still works, and the three kitchen tabs move to a Kitchen entry in the POS side menu.
