Before You Open a Support Ticket
A few minutes of preparation usually saves days of back-and-forth. Run this checklist first — many issues resolve here — and if you still need help, include the details below in your ticket so the team can reproduce the problem immediately.
Quick Diagnostic Checklist
- Update to the latest version. The current release is WooCommerce POS 7.2.0; updates appear on the WordPress Plugins page once your license is active.
- Check the requirements. WordPress 6.5+, WooCommerce 9.1+, PHP 7.4+ — older stacks cause hard-to-trace failures. See requirements.
- Flush permalinks. Settings → Permalinks → Save Changes fixes most 404 and routing problems.
- Confirm the REST API responds.
https://your-site.com/wp-json/should return JSON, not a firewall challenge or an error page. - Match the message to the error index. The register's exact wording usually identifies the cause directly.
- Test for a plugin conflict. If the issue began after installing or updating another plugin, retest with that plugin temporarily deactivated on a staging site.
- Search the docs. The Help Center covers setup, daily tasks, hardware, and known limitations.
What to Include in Your Ticket
The fastest tickets contain everything support needs to reproduce the issue on the first read:
| Include | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| WordPress, WooCommerce, and POS plugin versions | Confirms whether a known, already-fixed issue applies |
| Exact steps to reproduce | Lets support trigger the same behavior immediately |
| The exact error message, word for word | Maps the report to a specific code path |
| A screenshot of the screen where it happens | Shows the state the register was in |
| Browser console output (F12 → Console) when the error occurs | Reveals failing requests and status codes |
Relevant log lines from WooCommerce → Status → Logs or wp-content/debug.log | Captures server-side fatals the screen never shows |
| Your inventory type (Master Stock or Centralized) and whether the register was online or offline | Many behaviors differ by mode |
| Hardware involved, if any (printer model, scanner, terminal) | Narrows hardware-specific issues |
Keep your purchase code ready for verification, but never post it in screenshots or public forums.
